Gregory Celtic Under 9 White 4

With two in form teams, a very exciting game was anticipated. Celtic forwards started at a fast pace putting the home team on the back foot. Cole, Kyle and Mitchell tested the keeper from outside the box until Thorplands rallied and it was their turn to push forward. However they were met with a solid defence from Joe and Ademola and could not find a way through. Celtic forwards broke the deadlock with a super goal from Mitchell, which was quickly followed by a super shot and goal from Kyle after a great set up from Josh. Second half saw Celtic turn up the pressure with great passing from Kyle and Mitchell setting up Cole to shoot into the top corner. Thorplands counter attacked with a quick break but a super shot was saved by Luke with an equally super save. Jack pushed up from the midfield keeping Thorplands in their own half. The pressure paid off and Kyle hit the net for his second. A superb team performance from Celtic, well done to both teams.

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
